 Bursa
Bursa was the first capital
of the Ottoman Empire when actually it was a kingdom. Therefore what, say, Kyoto
is to Japan, Bursa is to Turkey. This is where a kingdom that was going to rule
for over 600 years was born.
Pretty and old and important
Ottoman monuments can be seen in the city of Bursa today. The town is also known
for its healing baths, spa waters, silk trade and fruit production. One of the
highlights of Bursa is Mt. Olympus or Uludag.
Other places to see are
: Grand Mosque, Green Mosque, Green Mausoleum, Green Tomb of Celebi Sultan
Mehmet, Silk Bazaar and the Uludag National park.
